Sri RaghavendraTeertharu’s Mrittika Mahima/Glory is described in Mantralaya(1043).

The annual ritual of "Mrittika Sangrahanam" in Mantralaya holds great significance in the devotion and reverence towards Sri Raghavendra Swamy. During this sacred occasion, the current pontiff of the Mutt performs a special ritual involving the collection of holy soil, known as Mrittika.

The Mrittika is collected from Tulasi Vana, a garden located between the Mutt and the Tungabhadra River. This garden holds special significance as it is believed to be blessed by the presence of the divine Tulasi plant. In a grand procession, H.H. Shri Swamiji himself leads the way to Tulasi Vana, accompanied by devotees and disciples. With utmost devotion, the Mrittika is collected from the bottom of the Tulasi plant, symbolizing the sacred connection between the divine and the earthly elements.

Once the Mrittika is collected, it is brought back to Shri Raghavendra Swamy Sannidana in a Suvarna Pallaki, a golden palanquin. The Suvarna Pallaki signifies the significance and sanctity of the Mrithika, as it is a representation of the divine presence of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
Finally, the collected Mrithika is reverently placed on the top of the Brindavana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. The "Mrittika Sangrahanam" ritual serves as a reminder of the deep devotion and connection between the devotees and Sri Raghavendra Swamy. It is a time when devotees come together to witness and participate in this sacred event, expressing their love and gratitude towards the saintly figure who continues to inspire and bless countless lives.

Devotees consider the Mrittika to be highly auspicious and powerful. We believe that it possesses the divine vibrations and blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. It is considered a blessed object that brings spiritual benefits, protection, and grace to those who have the opportunity to receive and worship it.

Mrittika miracles serve as a testament to the unwavering faith and devotion of the devotees towards Sri Raghavendra Swamy. They exemplify the belief that the sacred soil carries the divine presence and healing vibrations of the saint Sri Rayaru, capable of bestowing blessings, protection, and miraculous interventions.

The Mrittika miracle acts as a source of inspiration and reassurance for devotees who face challenges in various aspects of their lives. It strengthens their faith in the omnipotent power of Sri Raghavendra Swamy and instills hope that through devotion and surrender, they can experience divine grace and miraculous transformations in their own lives.

I would like to share an inspiring miracle that exemplifies the extraordinary power of Sri Raghavendra Swamy's Mrittika (sacred soil). This incident revolves around Sri VidyamanyaTeertharu, the esteemed Guru of Sri VishweshaTeertharu.During his stay in North India to observe Chaturmasya (a period of four months dedicated to intense spiritual practices), Sri VidyamanyaTeertharu received a heartfelt request from a devotee. The devotee expressed a deep desire for Swamiji's presence and blessings in Kashi (Varanasi), a renowned spiritual destination after Chaturmasya. However, the distance between the place where Sri VidyamanyaTeertharu was observing Chaturmasya and Kashi was quite significant, roughly a 24-hour journey by road.Realizing the need for a suitable place to rest and perform the customary pooja along the way, Sri VidyamanyaTeertharu sought assistance. Providentially, the devotee who extended the invitation happened to have a connection with a businessman in Dhulatabad who was the owner of the Kalyanamantapa or Marriage Hall. This devotee, earnest in their devotion, contacted the businessman and arranged for Sri Vidyamanya Teertharu to stay at a Kalyanamantapa or Marriage Hall—a large venue typically used for hosting events.

Swamiji arrived at the Dhulatabad Kalyanamantapa, where he performed his pooja and sat in deep prayer to the Lord. During this sacred moment, the owner of the Kalyanamantapa/Marriage Hall businessman and his wife approached Swamiji. The wife clutched a picture in her hand, repeatedly glancing at it and then at Swamiji. Overwhelmed with devotion, she fell at Swamiji's feet and remained prostrate. Swamiji compassionately asked her to rise and inquire about her desire. With unwavering faith, the woman revealed that she had been suffering from visible white patches on her body, which were gradually spreading. A worker from her husband's company, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, had given her a picture of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, assuring her that if she prayed to him, she would be healed. Believing Swamiji to be the embodiment of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, she implored him to cure her ailment.Swamiji, taken aback by this request, pondered on what to do. Then, he reached for his pooja box, which contained the sacred Mrittika of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. With deep conviction, Swamiji handed the Mrittika to the businessman's wife, instructing her to apply it daily, assuring her that her affliction would be cured. This incident serves as a powerful testament to the divine power and grace of Sri Raghavendra Swamy's Mrittika

After completing his visit to Kashi, VidyamanyaTeertharu embarked on his journey back, with a plan to stop once again at the Dhulatabad Kalyanamantapa for pooja and rest. As his car arrived at the venue, he was taken aback by the sight of a large gathering and elaborate decorations. Assuming that there was a wedding celebration taking place, Swamiji instructed his driver to approach from the backside. To his surprise, as soon as Swamiji's car was parked, a procession of people approached him with garlands, welcoming him with great enthusiasm. Confused by the grand reception, Swamiji was escorted to the stage, where he found himself at the center of attention. One by one, people lined up to seek his blessings, and among them were the businessman and his wife.Swamiji noticed that the wife was radiantly happy, and to his astonishment, he realized that her white patches had completely disappeared. It became clear why the gathering had taken place. The businessman's wife referred to Swamiji as "Rayaru," believing that Sri Raghavendra Swamy himself had cured her ailment. Overwhelmed with gratitude, she shared her miraculous healing with everyone present.

In his speech, Swamiji humbly clarified that he was not Sri Raghavendra Swamy but a devoted follower. He emphasized the glory of Sri RaghavendraTeertharu and the immense power of the Mrittika. Swamiji encouraged all the gathered individuals to visit Mantralaya and seek the divine darshana of Sri Rayaru, who embodies infinite grace and blessings.
This incident served as a poignant reminder of the miraculous powers of Sri Raghavendra Swamy and the divine intervention that can occur through the Mrittika. It showcased the unwavering faith and devotion of the devotee, who saw Swamiji as an embodiment of the revered saint. Swamiji, in turn, used this opportunity to redirect the focus to the greatness of Sri RaghavendraTeertharu and the significance of seeking his divine presence.VidyamanyaTeertharu's heartfelt speech left a profound impact on the gathered crowd, inspiring them to embark on a spiritual journey to Mantralaya, where they could experience the divine grace and blessings of Sri Rayaru themselves.

In summary, this event demonstrated the power of faith, the potency of the Mrittika, and the eternal presence of Sri Raghavendra Swamy in the lives of his devotees. It reinforced the belief in the miraculous healing that can occur through unwavering devotion and the blessings of the divine Guru.
